Three Faculty Members Receive American Council of Learned Societies Fellowships

Three faculty members from the Division of the Humanities have received fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies. These prestigious fellowships allow scholars to spend six to 12 months on full-time research and writing.

For the second time in four months, the Smart Museum of Art is featuring artworks from its permanent collection throughout its entire space. Following the success of the fall show Carved Cast and Crumpled: Sculpture All Ways, the Smart galleries have again been transformed into a wide-ranging exhibition in honor of the museum’s 40th anniversary, along with this year’s campus-wide celebration of shared anniversaries, UChicago Artennial.

Game Changer Chicago Awarded $1 Million MacArthur Foundation Grant

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has awarded $1 million over two years to the Game Changer Chicago Design Lab (GCC Design Lab), co-directed by associate professor of English Patrick Jagoda, to advance its work developing game-based learning experiences that promote sexual and reproductive health, academic success, civic engagement, and overall well-being among urban youth.
