Philippe Desan Receives Honor from Académie Française
Philippe Desan, Howard L. Willett Professor in Romance Languages and Literatures, History of Culture, and the College, has been honored by the Académie Française with its Grand Prix du Rayonnement de la langue et de la littérature françaises.
Edes Prize Winner Explores Contrasts in Xilitla, Mexico
Composer, performer and multimedia artist Francisco Castillo Trigueros, PhD’13, refers to his winning proposal for the 2015 Claire Rosen & Samuel Edes Prize for Emerging Artists as a song cycle that will depict the town of Xilitla in the mountainous Huasteca region of Mexico.
Nussbaum to Receive 2015 Inamori Ethics Prize
Martha C. Nussbaum, the Ernst Freund Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Ethics, has been awarded the 2015 Inamori Ethics Prize by the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence at Case Western Reserve University. The annual prize, which will be presented to Nussbaum at a ceremony in October, honors an individual “who has demonstrated exemplary ethical leadership” and “whose actions and influence have greatly improved the condition of humankind.”
Tableau Receives Circle of Excellence Award
The Division of the Humanities' bi-annual magazine, Tableau, was honored with a silver award in the category of external audience newsletters from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), during the organization’s annual Circle of Excellence competition.
