Meet the Staff: Tracy Davis

Tracy Davis

More than 100 staff members work in the Division of the Humanities. We'll introduce you to our staff in this continuing series.

Tracy Davis
Department Administrator, Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations
Office: Foster 212

What do you like most about your job?
I love the University of Chicago campus. When I was offered the position at UChicago I was thrilled, I worked at Roosevelt College, which has no real campus, and in corporate for many years. I really enjoy working with students and faculty. Also, my colleagues here are great to work with, but the campus is what does it for me. No matter what kind of day I’m having, I can look out of my window or walk the grounds and make the best out of my day.

What was the last good book you read?
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

You might work with me if you need...
If you need anything from the Slavic Department or the SALC Department. I wear two hats and change back and forth as needed - I answer questions about both programs. If you need to reserve Foster 103, schedule Foster 209 and Foster 408 or track down wayward faculty. I’m a decent resource for university administrative functions and procedures. I’m also good with the best resources around campus when you need to get something done.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving side?
Candied yams
