Stephani Strother, a PhD student in the Department of Art History wrote, “I feel grateful every day for the generous funding provided to me by UChicago and made possible by donors like you. Yin Cai, a PhD candidate in the Department of East Asian Literatures and Cultures, who received the Philip A. Kuhn Dissertation Prize in Chinese studies shared, “I was able to focus on the writing of my dissertation and successfully defended it in July 2025. I am the first and only PhD in my entire family now!”
