|Description||The University of Chicago Library is marking the 10th anniversary of the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library this year, beginning with a virtual lecture featuring Philip Castillo, FAIA, Executive Vice President of JAHN, and Christine Mehring, Mary L. Block Professor of Art History and the College. |
With its soaring elliptical glass dome capping a 180-seat Grand Reading Room, the Mansueto Library was designed by the late groundbreaking architect Helmut Jahn and is a triumph for the University and the city of Chicago. Mr. Castillo and Professor Mehring will explore the architecture of the Mansueto Library and its impact on the architectural landscape.
