Description | Professors from the Turin Conservatory in Italy perform violin sonatas by Grieg, Willan, and Sandro Fuga. Co-sponsor: Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago Tour sponsor: Conservatory of Turin, Italy Sergio Lamberto, violin (A. Stradivarius, 1709, formerly the property of the Italian violin virtuosa Teresina Tua) Giacomo Fuga, piano program: Healey Willan, Sonata no. 1 for violin and piano, op. 100 Sandro Fuga (1906-94), Violin Sonata no. 3 (1989) E. Grieg, Violin Sonata no. 3 in C minor, op. 45 The weekly Tea Time Concert Series includes a wide variety of musical genres, instruments and repertoire selections featuring both student and faculty performers from the University of Chicago as well as professional musicians from the Chicagoland area. Each concert is free and open to the public, every Thursday afternoon in Fulton Recital Hall (fourth floor of Goodspeed Hall). Complimentary tea and cookies are served in the Fulton Hall lobby at 4:15pm and the concert begins promptly at 4:30pm. |
