DescriptionThe colloquium is a forum for free, non-hierarchical exchange of ideas among all members of the Department of Comparative Literature.

Na’ama Rokem will be talking about her chapter about Paul Celan's work as a translator, and how she ties it to examples of his own work in translation. She will look at German and Hebrew texts and use them also to think about the difficulties of writing in English about translations in other languages.

David Molina will be talking about the role of Verdi’s Aida in Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel Heart of a Dog.
