Applications for admission to all graduate programs in the Division of Humanities are processed by the Office of Admissions in the Office of the Dean of Students. Questions about the application process should be directed to humanitiesadmissions@uchicago.edu or 773/702-1552.
Information about specific programs and answers to questions can be found at the Web sites of the departments and committees. Please see the University's Time Schedules for current course offerings.
For all Humanities graduate programs except the Master of Arts in Latin American/Caribbean Studies and the Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies, the deadline for receipt of completed applications for admission in 2013-2014 is DECEMBER 15, 2012. The deadline for the Latin American/Caribbean and Middle Eastern Studies programs is JANUARY 7, 2013. Applications are completed online at https://apply-humanities.uchicago.edu/apply/, which will be available beginning in September 2012. Decisions will be made available through our online application site by early March, and notification that the decisions are available will be sent to applicants at the email address they supply with their application. Please understand that we will not relay admission decisions directly via email, or over the phone.
Please be aware that late applications or late submission of online materials will be considered only as long as places are available in the relevant programs. Financial aid (other than loans) is not available for late applicants.
Applicants from previous years cannot re-activate their earlier application but must instead submit a new online application and pay the application fee for the current year.
