Eric P. Elshtain

An Interview with Camille Guthrie

Camille Guthrie's poem "Defending Oneself" appeared in CR's Summer 2004 issue. She teaches literature in New York City and lives in Brooklyn; her most recent book, In Captivity, was published earlier this year by Subpress.

This interview appeared a few months later in the Spring 2005 issue, which was Eric P. Elshtain's last issue as CR's poetry editor. Over the course of his five-year tenure, in addition to his many reviews (one of which prompted this conversation with Guthrie), CR published several of his simultaneously free-ranging and focused interviews with the likes of Arthur Sze, Eleni Sikelianos, and Thalia Field.
