51:1/2 Spring 2005
Eric P. Elshtain
An Interview with Camille Guthrie
Camille Guthrie's poem "Defending Oneself" appeared in CR's Summer 2004 issue. She teaches literature in New York City and lives in Brooklyn; her most recent book, In Captivity, was published earlier this year by Subpress.
This interview appeared a few months later in the Spring 2005 issue, which was Eric P.
Elshtain's last issue as CR's poetry editor. Over the course of his five-year tenure, in addition to his many reviews (one of which prompted this conversation with Guthrie), CR published several of his simultaneously free-ranging and focused interviews with the likes of Arthur Sze, Eleni
Sikelianos, and Thalia Field.
