The Goethe-Institut is a non-profit organization with more than 150 institutes in 78 countries. Its task is to promote the German Language and to foster International Cultural Cooperation. The Head Office is located in Munich, Germany. One important goal of the Goethe-Institut Chicago is to promote international cultural cooperation by organizing a broad variety of events to present German culture. The Goethe-Institut Chicago offers workshops and teacher training seminars for teachers of German as a second language, and also provides an extensive examination program at our institute. Learning about German life and culture is an integral part of our language courses. In recent years, the Goethe-Institut branch in Chicago, Illinois, has graciously hosted the Midwest Graduate Seminar in German Studies.
