The Language Faculty Resource Center is generally open only to language faculty and instructors of the University. However, all University students, faculty and staff are welcome to watch international news broadcasts in the Satellite Viewing Room (C 209).  In addition, language classes regularly meet in C 210 (IMROC). Students who wish to use the other facilities must obtain permission from the LFRC staff.

The Language Labs (SS 4) are available to the following persons affiliated with the University:

  • Currently registered graduate and undergraduate students
  • Faculty members
  • Staff members
  • Spouses of graduate students and faculty or staff members carrying a valid library card
  • Alumni
  • I-House ESL students

Note: Everyone must register to use either site of the Language Laboratories and Archives (LFRC or SS 4), both upon the first visit and at the beginning of each subsequent quarter. Patrons of the Language Labs (SS 4) must present a valid U. of C. ID and fill out a registration card, which includes a copyright agreement. Signing the card indicates that one understands and agrees to its provisions.
