Iron wheel rim or tire.

L. .60m, W. .13m(?) Max. L. of nails .109m

Curved iron band belonging to a wheel from which eight nails or rivets project. The thickness of the wooden wheel was c. .08m. The rim was made in sections, two of which are preserved here. The nails are inserted in holes cut through the rim; they end in washers that secured the wheel.

6th century B.C.

Found in debris in the cella of Archaic Temple.
