Every year, forty to fifty Visiting Faculty and Scholars from institutions in the U.S. and around the world are affiliated with one of the fifteen Humanities departments, and greatly enrich humanities on campus by teaching courses, giving public lectures, and pursuing research at the University. See right side of page for more links.
Tableau is a semi-annual publication of the Division of the Humanities, designed to keep our friends and alumni better informed of the spectrum of activities and programs in the Division. In addition to describing the innovative exhibitions, scholarly projects, and research of our students, faculty and alumni, Tableau also reports on the changing face of the Division - with short biographies of new faculty members, and listings of appointments for recent Ph.D. recipients.
The University of Chicago Humanities Day is a day-long celebration of humanistic inquiry at the University of Chicago. Every year, on a Saturday in
late October, members of the faculty share with the
public audiences the range, innovation, and
excitement that characterize humanities scholarship
today.
