The Chicago Linguistic Society

The Chicago Linguistic Society is a student-run, decidedly non-profit volunteer organization at the University of Chicago. Its raison-d'être is to create fora where linguists and scholars working in related disciplines can present and discuss their work. The annual conference is our major function. In addition, we organize other social and academic events throughout the year.

Click to subscribe to our mailing list. (You must subscribe yourself --we're not able to do this for you.)

The conference is divided into a Main Session, comprised of talks on a broad range of linguistic issues, and a series of Panels on a range of more particular issues within a sub-discipline of the field. The panels for CLS 42 are:

CASE AND VOICE

LANGUAGE COEXISTENCE

SOUTH ASIAN LINGUISTICS

A selection of papers presented at CLS 42 will be published in the spring of 2007.
