The critical edition of the Messa da Requiem includes as appendix items the 1874 version of the "Liber scriptus" (4-part chorus and orchestra) and the "Libera me, Domine from the Messa per Rossini (summer 1869), the first version of what later became that portion of the Dies irae in the Requiem for Manzoni.
