Communications and Events

Faculty and staff who are planning an event, workshop, or symposium should visit the Divisional Resources Wiki for event planning and communication resources. Information about securing a location for a conference, finding caterers, or providing accommodations for visiting guests can be found on this page. If you need further assistance, communications staff can provide additional planning and promotional resources including

  • Assessing the budget, staffing, and supply needs for an event;
  • Assisting with organization and task assignments;
  • Developing an event-specific plan for marketing and communication; and,
  • Supplying student events assistants according to schedule availability.

Communications and events staff maintain this web site, assist in publicizing departmental lectures supported by the Division, provide advice and support in creating promotional materials (fliers, newsletters, postcards, event programs, etc.) for departments within the Division, and oversee the division's news and events page. If you are interested in creating a departmental newsletter, promoting a lecture, or publicizing faculty accomplishments, the communications manager and staff can assist you in this process.
