The greatest resource of the Division of the Humanities is its people, particularly those with the longest-term commitments to the institution: our faculty, other academic personnel, and our staff.

We are a Division of approximately 170 faculty, 40 lecturers, and 90 divisional and departmental staff members, whose activities drive the remarkable research and pedagogic work of this institution. The fruits of our efforts manifest themselves as published books, influential conferences, new works of art, important research discoveries, and graduates who are recognizably fine critical thinkers and scholars in the Chicago style. An infrastructure of appointment processes, financial policies and procedures, personnel practices, and technology makes this possible.
