The Department is happy to meet with prospective students who would like to visit the University of Chicago, although formal interviews are not required for Ph.D applications. You are welcome to visit the campus, sit in on courses, talk with current students, and schedule appointments with faculty in your area of interest. To arrange individual meetings or to sit in on classes, please get in touch with the faculty member you'd like meet with or the course instructor prior to your visit. For further assistance, feel free to e-mail tmorin@uchicago.edu.
If you are already the recipient of an M.A. from another institution, we require that you contact those faculty members with whom you would like to work, and discuss your program of study with them before submitting your application.
