Summer Quarter Registration

Summer registration runs Monday of eighth week of spring quarter through the first day of summer quarter. In addition to registration, students may change enrollments (add/drop) anytime during this period. Students are encouraged to finalize their schedules before summer quarter begins. Before registering, students on fellowship should check with the Dean of Students office to be sure their fellowship covers summer tuition. Most fellowships do not cover required fees.

Doctoral students who register for summer quarter, regardless of whether they enroll for courses, will be charged tuition (based on their residence status) and the health and wellness fee. Students who live more than 100 miles from campus in summer quarter may petition the Dean of Students to have the health and wellness fee waived. The graduate student activity fee is assessed only for students enrolled in a course.

Students who receive summer student loans are required to register for summer quarter. Students who receive summer work-study money are not required to register. Please direct questions regarding summer student loans and/or the federal work-study program to the Student Loan Administration.

Students who apply to receive a PhD in summer quarter are required to register and pay the associated tuition and fees. MA students who have completed all required course enrollments in previous quarters are not required to register in order to receive their degree in summer quarter.
