Armando Maggi is Professor in
the Department of Romance Languages. He received his Ph. D. from
the University of Chicago in 1995. His areas of specializations
are: Renaissance literature and philosophy, medieval and Renaissance
mysticism and demonology, emblematic literature, religious studies,
and literary criticism. He is the author of the following books:
Uttering the Word (1998), Impresa e identità rinascimentale
(1998), Satan's Rhetoric (2001), Saint Maria Maddalena
de' Pazzi. Selected Revelations (2000). He has edited Della
magia d'amore (1591), a Renaissance treatise on love. He is
also the author of some 40 articles.
