On June 1st, 2018, Cervantes’s Don Quixote will be trending topic on Twitter. An innitiative of Renaissance scholar Pablo Maurette (@maurette79), #Cervantes2018 will bring together readers from around the world for a collective, virtual reading and discussion of Don Quixote, one chapter a day. Maurette’s previous project, #Dante2018, went viral, engaged thousands of readers, and got international media coverage. On May 21, distinguished professors Frederick de Armas and Thomas Pavel, world-class scholars on Cervantes and the history of the novel, will join professor Pablo Maurette for an open conversation about reading the classics in the age of social networks. Come join the discussion in anticipation of #Cervantes2018!
